Wild Horse in the Meadow

August 16, 2006 / by anniel

We have a herd of wild horses which roam the mountain behind our ranch.  This black horse has been spending time in our back meadow through most of the spring and summer.  Most of the herd are so inbred that they are not good looking animals.  This horse is very pretty and we suspect he/she might have joined the herd from a local ranch.  We haven't gotten close enough to tell the sex.  This animal and all of the other wild creatures around the ranch are the reason I really need to get a good camera with a very loooong lens.  I was lucky to get this close to the horse.

Another picture I thought you might enjoy is of our cattle dog, Buddy.  He was told to "down" and so he is being obedient.  He is also very frustrated at this moment and feeling somewhat humillated.  He would love to nip the nose of that calf.

I hope you enjoyed these pics of our ranch critters.

How great is that?! Finally get to see some of your wonderful animals! Yeah I can tell from Buddy's body language that he doesn't appreciate the calf being so disrespectful! [LOL] And the calf is milking it while the getting's good! lol Such a cute shot! Frameable one there Annie [TONGUE][HEART]

Yep, every muscle in Buddy's body is wound tight at that moment. Sometimes, he can't take it and he forgets about the command and just goes for the nose.[ROLLEYES]

I blogged about him awhile ago.... quite awhile ago. Spent alot of money training that dog and he comes from royal cowdog breeding, but...... he has a mind of his own and it really gets crazy working with him. Or I should say.... I get a little crazy!!![ROLLEYES][ROLLEYES]
